Swiss Replica Watches — Gems of Time, the exhibition celebrating the art and craft of the high jewellery cheap replica watch, will return to SalonQP for 2015.
Building on the success of last year’s inaugural Gems of Time exhibition, The Art of Colour explores a dynamic new chapter in the story of the jewelled Swiss replica watches UK, highlighting the current mood for unique timepieces in precious, vibrant hues.
Curated by Caragh McKay, Watch Editor of the Daily Telegraph, Gems of Time is designed by Leila Latchin, an Editor-at-Large of Wallpaper* magazine. The illustrator Nuno Da Costa, whose work has featured in titles including Vogue and the Sunday Times Style magazine, will also collaborate with the curator and designer to produce a very special element of the design, which will be revealed as the exhibition nears. A fascinating cache of Gemfields’ rough and polished emeralds is also incorporated, adding another unique aspect to the exhibition.
Gems of Time: The Art of Colour is a showcase of high-art timepieces from world-renowned copy watches for sale and jewellery houses, including Bulgari, Piaget, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Gemfields, Backes & Strauss, and Harry Winston. The exhibition will take place in a dedicated space in the main ground-floor gallery of the Saatchi Gallery.
Curator Caragh McKay says: “Last year, for the first time, we were able to reveal a little known part of the world’s best-known high jewellery houses – the jewelled watch. This year gives us a brilliant opportunity to build on that, revealing further intricacies of the fascinating collaboration between the jeweller, setter and watchmaker. Together, they create awe-inspiring jewels rooted in a craft tradition but make them brilliantly modern by taking creative risks with artisanal techniques.”
A carefully curated treasure trove of exceptional timepieces, the exhibition presents a rare chance for visitors to glimpse an often hidden aspect of jewellery and watch design. Gems of Time: the Art of Colour tells the story of the unique Rolex Replica watchmaker-jeweller relationship. It will reveal the avant-garde thinking that defines jewelled watch design today, spotlight the pioneering artistic techniques used to create métiers des arts showstoppers and explore the emotional power that compels us to know more about precious stones.
Highlights include: an “in-conversation-with” session with Sasha Slater, deputy editor of Harper’s Bazaar magazine and curator Caragh McKay debating the relevance of jewelled cheap replica watches today.
